There are many unwanted things that you as a homeowner have to deal with. It could be insects, rodents or weeds just to mention a few. These three situations have something in common though. They are often solved by the use of some type of pesticide. While some homeowners choose not to use pesticides, many do, and pesticides have become much less damaging to the environment, as well as to your health over time.

If you do decide to use pesticides however, you should take steps to protect yourself and your family. While they are less harmful than they used to be, they can contain strong chemicals. You should keep them out of reach of your children, preferably in a locked cabinet where they can’t get to them. You should also wear appropriate protective clothing while applying pesticides, including safety glasses and gloves.

It is wise to avoid applying pesticides on a windy day since it could cause the pesticide to blow back into your face or into the yard of a neighbor.
