Are you and your family getting ready to welcome into your home a new puppy? Here are a few suggestions to help you puppy-proof your home.

The first suggestion is to put away all small items that are choking hazards, which could be jewelry, coins, rubber bands, or paper clips. Puppies like to chew on everything, so just take a look around your home to make sure these small items are put away.

Second, if you don’t want your dog getting into the habit of drinking out of the toilet or falling in it for that matter, keep your toilet lids down.

Another suggestion is to avoid putting any medications on any low tables or counters where the puppy can easily reach them. Even if the medications are in bottles or pill dispensers, the puppy will be able to chew through them.

Lastly, you will want to make sure to move electrical cords or string them through cord concealers so that the puppies are not able to chew on them.

There is a lot to do to get ready for a puppy. These are just a few suggestions to help you puppy-proof your home so that you can be ready to welcome your new puppy.
